Introducing Tyson, a distinguished Canadian champion and son of the renowned sire Tapit. Tyson recently found a new home at Stone Jug Ranch, a burgeoning Thoroughbred facility near Dillsburg, Pennsylvania. Darryl and Jill Myers, the proud owners of Stone Jug Ranch, have decided to welcome Tyson to stand for his inaugural breeding season under their care.
The acquisition of Tyson was not taken lightly by the Myers family. According to their bloodstock adviser, Ed Price, their interest in standing stallions became more serious upon discovering Tyson. Tyson clinched the title of Canada's Sovereign Award Champion Older Horse in 2023, showcasing his talent by securing a notable victory in the 1 1/16-mile Seagram Cup Stakes at Woodbine.
Throughout his career, Tyson amassed an impressive track record, winning four of his first five races, including the GII Seagrams Cup and GIII Dominion Day Stakes. Followed by placing third in Saratoga’s GI Jockey Club Gold Cup and placing second, beaten ½ length in Woodbine’s GII Eclipse Stakes. His racing prowess, combined with his lineage as the offspring of Tapit and Honouring makes Tyson a promising prospect for the Pennsylvania breeding industry.
As the first foal of Honouring, a sibling to GR 1 winner Streaming and stakes victor Treasuring, Tyson represents the legacy of a deep and strong female pedigree. Tyson's female family is represented by four generations of thoroughbreds; great broodmare sires in Smart Strike, Storm Cat, Deputy Minister, and Blushing Groom. Familiar names in the Pedegree: Better Than Honor-Boodmare of the Year, Rags to Riches-champion three-year-old filly, Arcangelo-champion three-year-old colt, Blush with Pride -champion, Jazil-Belmont Stake Gr1, etc. With the support of Pennsylvania breeders, Tyson's future progeny will have the opportunity to participate in the PA-sired/bred series.

True Nicks
The TrueNicks rating differs from other rankings in that it is not based on speculative opportunities within a small cohort of horses. Instead, TrueNicks leverages The Jockey Club's comprehensive database of Thoroughbreds and their performances to generate a nuanced rating encompassing all foals from a specific cross. This rating is calculated using two key statistical components: the Sire Improvement Index (SII) and the Broodmare Sire Improvement Index (BSII). Both indices assess the proportion of progeny stakes winners among starters.
